Answer:

The percent error of Jocelyn's estimate is 2.14 .

Step-by-step explanation:

Formula

Percentage\ error = \frac{Error\times 100}{exact\ value}

Where

error = \left | approx\ value - exact\ value \right |

As given

Jocelyn estimates that a price of wood measures 5.5 cm.

If it actually measures 5.62 cm.

approx value =  5.5 cm

exact value = 5.62 cm

Put in the error formula

error = \left | 5.5 - 5.62 \right |

error = \left | -0.12\right |

error = 0.12

Put in the formula

Percentage\ error = \frac{0.12\times 100}{5.62}

Percentage\ error = \frac{12}{5.62}

Percentage error = 2.14 (Approx)

Therefore  the percent error of Jocelyn's estimate is 2.14 .
