it increased their power.

Further Explanation:-

The first regular standing army in Western Europe took place in the year 1445 and after Roman times that was the first instance when it was organized. This standing army was organized in France and the motive behind it was to provide a solution to the Marauding companies which were considered as free.

These companies did not have much of a choice as they were given two options and that was either to support the Royal army permanently or get hunted down by them if they refused to support. So, people have not much of a choice and those who didn't support it were eliminated by 6000 men who were sent out to eliminate the people who refused. This standing army was known to be more professional in its approach.

During this time, there used to be a military evolution and that happened very quickly. The weapons, the army structure, and Tactics with regards to war changed completely.

Were the witch trials really about witchcraft or was there something else going on in Salem in 1692
kondaur [170]

Yes, the witchtrials were about witchcraft. 200 people were accused of practicing witchcraft “the devil’s magic”- and 20 were executed. Eventually, the colony admitted the trials were a mistake and compensated the families of those convicted. The story of the trials has become synonymous with paranoia and injustice.
