Pretty quickly we can tell that it's not Martin Luther or John Calvin because Martin Luther sparked the reformation and John Calvin began the denomination called Calvinism.

Samuel de Champlain is a French name (the "de Champlain" gives it away) and the French were in the far north. Quakers were centered in New England (obviously founded by England), therefore that leaves us with the best option: George Fox.

How did the missouri compromise impact the future of north-south relations in the u.s.?
Sever21 [200]
<span>The Missouri compromise was about whether slavery should continue a part of American society. It allowed the state of Missouri to become a part of the union while retaining slavery, balanced by admitting Maine, which was a free state. It also prohibited slavery in the new Louisiana Purchase states. It was considered deeply flawed on both sides, and merely established the differences that would later lead to war.

How did John Brown's raid at Harper's Ferry further increase sectionalism in the southern states?
Oksana_A [137]

The raid took place on October 16, 1859 before the war. Brown was a man determined to abolish slavery, a belief of many northerners. This Revolt was led by an abolitionist, or a person against slavery. The raid indicated that abolitionists would use violence to overthrow slavery. Slavery was a big issue during this time and was a huge reason for the sectionalism between the North and South.
