Use the original DNA sequence above to write an example of each of the following types of mutations: insertion, substitution, an
Tanya [424]

For example: GGATACCTAGGTAAT

Insertion: GGATGACCTAGGTAAT

a nucleotide that was not present before is inserted into the original sequence

Substitution: CGATACCTAGGTAAT

the first nucleotide was substituted in for another (C for G)

Frameshift (basically a insertion or deletion, we'll try deletion here): GATACCTAGGTAAT

the first nucleotide was deleted, causing the reading frame to be shifted (instead of GGA as the first codon, we have GAT)

If the theory of evolution were true it would not be possible to classify organisms into distinct categories.
Alenkinab [10]
TRUE!!!! Idk if this answer is actually for a quiz, but for my opinion and belief, it would be impossible to classify animals and organisms if all of this came from an accident. If this question is for a quiz though, I assume that they will expect you to say False. Mostly to defend their belief. So it's really up to you on what you're gonna go with.
