Write a polynomial to represent the larger rectangle and the smaller rectangle.
nikdorinn [45]

Answer:

See answers below.

Step-by-step explanation:

Large Rectangle:   length x width = (x + 3)(x - 4) =

                                        x² - 4x + 3x - 12

                                           x² - x - 12

Smaller Rectangle:  length x width = (x)(3) = 3x

Shaded Region: shaded area = lg. rectangle minus small rectangle

                             A = (x² - x - 12) - 3x

                             A = x² - 4x - 12

Solve for x, if shaded reion's area is 48 square units:

                          48 = x² - 4x - 12

                                  x² - 4x - 12 -48 = 0

                                  x² - 4x - 60 = 0

                                  (x - 10)(x + 6) = 0

                                   x - 10 = 0   or   x + 6 = 0

                                   x = 10    or    x = -6

                                               But x represents a length, so x cannot be -6.

                                  x = 10

Pls help me I’m failing lolz :)
kaheart [24]
Answer: For no solution it would mean that there is no answer to the equation. For infinite solutions it would mean that any value for the variable would make the equation true.

Explanation: For example of no solution 6=5 as you can tell 6 is not the same to 5 so there is no solution. More examples are 2=3, 8=10, and 1=0. For infinite solutions examples are 2=2, 7=7, and 10=10 as we can see 2 does equal 2 and 7 equals 7 which makes it true and infinite.

Find the y-intercept and the x-intercept of the line 2x-4y=10
kompoz [17]
Finding y intercept and x intercept is easy:

X intercept will be of the form (x,0) and y intercept will be of the form (0,y)

● If you put x=0 in the equation, you will get y-intercept.

● If you put y=0 in the equation, you will get x-intercept.
______________________________

Given equation: 2x - 4y = 10

◆ Put x = 0
2×0 - 4y = 10
=> -4y = 10
=> y = 10/(-4)
=> y = -5/2

Thus y intercept is (0, -5/2)

◆Put y = 0
2x - 4×0 = 10
=> 2x = 10
=> x = 10/2
=> x = 5

Thus the x intercept is (5,0)
