The effects of aging on the respiratory system are similar to those that occur in other organs:maximum function gradually declines. Age-related changes in the lungs include :

Decreases in peak airflow and gas exchange  

Decreases in measures of lung function such as vital capacity (the maximum amount of air that can be breathed out following a maximum inhalation)  

Weakening of the respiratory muscles  

Decline in the effectiveness of lung defense mechanisms

It's important that a child get's there vision checked to see if they have any problem's that could effect there vision, of have a bad effect on there eyes. Thee could also be a chance that the child may need eye surgery, but won't know because they haven't gotten there eyes checked.

If children don't gey there eyes check serious problems may occur. For example: Blindness, and many more health problems. The main rick is a child going blind, or even having to loose there eye. Aything can ouccur in eyes, which could have bad effects on there eyes.
