Molluscs are soft-bodied creatures with bodies divided approximately into three parts: a head, a central mass containing the main digestive organs and a foot-like appendage for movement. Most molluscs live in water, but some live on land.
In general, most mollusks share a three-part body plan containing of a visceral mass, mantle, and foot. The bivalves which is part of the mollusk groups typically contains of sedentary animals that use mucus-coated gills to trap fine food constituent part as water is impelled in the middle of two hinged shells surrounding the body.
