The best way to protect yourself against identity theft is C. Change online account passwords frequently. <u>Identity theft is when someone extracts your personal information and uses your name to commit fraud, steal, take over your account or even uses your name to buy, rent or sale properties.</u> The online world can be very unsafe, therefore there different ways to protect your identity, if passwords are not frequently changes it is easier for an identity thief to access that information. Option A is not viable as by discarding statements someone can get a hold of personal information, it is better to destroy them. Option B is not correct as public Wi-Fi access are vulnerable and someone can access your data while using an unsafe connection. Option D is also not correct as what you need to avoid is email from unknown people or sources, there may be people who do not like you but have to work and communicate with you and it does not mean they will harm you.

Read and write the answer to the given question below...
Vsevolod [243]

Answer:

b) Appeal to ignorance, present in an argument in which the arguer relies on the supposition that, due to a lack of conclusive evidence, the conclusion of an argument should be accepted.

Explanation:

The logical fallacy of appeal to ignorance is when an argument's conclusion is based on the absence of any evidence proving against it. In other words, an appeal to ignorance is when an arguer relies on the supposition that the lack of any evidence proving otherwise makes his conclusion acceptable and right.

In the given case of the existence of aliens, the speaker decides that <em>"[since] no one has yet been able to [prove that aliens exist]", </em>therefore, it must be true and accepted that <em>"aliens do not exist."</em> This argument follows the logical fallacy of an appeal to ignorance.

Thus, the correct answer is option b.
