Anne Frank, born in 1929, was a victim of the Nazi regime in Germany. Of Jewish descent, Anne and her family lived in hiding for as long as they could in order to escape death. However, they were found by the Nazis, and Anne died in a concentration camp in 1945.

Her diary was published posthumously and a stage adaption of it was made. The play is called "The Diary of Anne Frank." The dialogue we are analyzing here takes place between Anne and Peter, whose family had also gone into hiding.

<u>From the dialogue we can easily infer that Anne was an outgoing girl. She was seen surrounded by friends, "in the middle of a bunch of kids." However, the one who saw that never approached them. Peter explains his behavior by saying he is "a lone wolf". In other words, he is shy, more introverted than Anne. He probably keeps few friends and would rather spend more time alone.</u>
