Some people actually kept that idea that Hitler had of only white people and that is when racism became a big thing once again. Not only that, but now any crazy person who had an idea in their mind and they thought it was right started trying to do their idea. They would try to go and get things they weren't supposed to and some people even tried to murder out in the streets. The people who did survive were mentally scarred. As for the US, it just showed that this country could fight back to any possible enemy they had and that they would not go down without a fight. Even though many lives were lost it made the country come close together.

Barbara just received a B on her test. She learns that one of her friends got an A on the same test, and another friend got a C.
9966 [12]

Answer:

According to social comparison theory, Barbara appears to have engaged in downward comparison.

Explanation:

According to Leon Festinger's Theory of Social Comparison, we commonly compare ourselves to people who are similar to us. We do that with the purpose of making accurate self-evaluations. However, a type of comparison known as downward comparison happens when we do not look at those who are similar to us. Instead, we compare ourselves to people who are in an inferior, more unfortunate position. That is a way we find to feel better about ourselves. This is what Barbara has done. She only knows the grades of two other classmates - one did better, one did worse than she did. Yet, she has chosen to think she has done really well relative to others in the class. Barbara has clearly chosen to ignore the one got an A, comparing herself to the one who got a C.

Which sociologist studied both poor and affluent chicago schools and found that administrators expected less of children?
Alisiya [41]

Sociologist who studied both poor and affluent Chicago schools and found that administrators expected less of children was Howard Becker.

American sociologist Howard S. Becker, whose full name is Howard Saul Becker, was born in Chicago, Illinois, on April 18, 1928. He is renowned for his research on deviance, art, and occupations.

One of the pioneering works on labelling theory and its use in deviance research is Becker's 1963 book Outsiders. Becker investigated the idea that deviance is merely a social fabrication designed to instil fear and penalise particular groups in the society. Becker writes that deviation is "not a trait of a terrible person but the result of someone classifying someone's conduct as wrong" in the book.
