Answer:

Bacteriophages are attaching to bacterial cell wall and injecting genetic material.

Explanation:

Bacteriophage:

A bacteriophage (bacteria eater) is a type of virus that infects bacteria. Bacteriophages are composed of genetic material (DNA or RNA) enclosed in a protein shell or capsid.

Following are steps of bacteriophage infection:

 1. Bacteriophage attaches to cell surface receptors on the surface of the bacterium.
 2. Depending upon the type of phage, the bacteriophage either injects its DNA or RNA into the bacterium or enters as a whole. In this image, the bacteriophage T4 is represented which injects its genetic material into the host cell.
 3. The phage's genetic material hijacks the cellular machinery of the host and replicates itself within the host.
 4. After replication, the phages burst open the bacteria cell and are released. This is called the lytic cycle of bacteriophage infection.
 5. In another type of infection cycle, called the lysogenic cycle, the bacteriophage genome gets incorporated into the host genome, known as a prophage. This prophage lies dormant.

* The second step of the infection cycle is pictured here.

During which phase of mitosis can the chromatids first be seen under a light microscope
EleoNora [17]
Should be prophase because chromatin coils up, becoming shorter and thicker, thick enough to become visible when stained.

Force in the liquid are the forces of attraction between the molecules within the liquid.
ziro4ka [17]
The surface tension of a liquid results from an imbalance of intermolecular attractive forces, the cohesive forces between molecules: A molecule in the bulk liquid experiences cohesive forces with other molecules in all directions. A molecule at the surface of a liquid experiences only net inward cohesive forces.

During photosynthesis, the energy used to pump protons comes from ___________, whereas in cellular respiration it comes from ___
Annette [7]

During photosynthesis, the energy used to pump protons comes from ______light_____, whereas in cellular respiration it comes from ______NADH/FADH₂_______.

What are the steps in photosynthesis?

 1. The first step in photosynthesis is the absorption of light by chlorophyll bound to chloroplast thylakoid proteins. The absorbed light energy is used to remove electrons from electron donors such as water to form oxygen.
 2. The electrons are then transferred to the primary electron acceptor, quinine (Q.). Electrons are further transferred from the primary electron acceptor to the final electron acceptor (usually NADP⁺).
 3. Proton transfer from the thylakoid lumen to the stroma via the F₀F₁ complex generates ATP from ADP and Pi.
 4. The NADP and ATP produced in steps 2 and 3 provide the energy, and the electrons power the process of reducing the carbon to a six-carbon sugar molecule.

The first three steps of photosynthesis, are directly dependent on light energy and are thus, called light reactions, while the reactions in the last step are independent of light and thus are termed dark reactions.
