Caesarian section (also spelled as cesarean) is performed from the long time ago in human culture.

A <u>caesarian delivery</u> is done when there is complication vaginal birth is difficult or when it puts the mother and child at risk.  

<u>Reasons for the caesarian delivery are the following:</u>

1. Reduced oxygen supply to the baby.

2. Previous pregnancy problems.

3. The head of the baby is very big for the birth canal.

4. If the baby’s feet comes out first.

<u>Various risks of caesarian delivery:</u>

1. Excessive bleeding

2. Blood clot formation

3. Occurrence of infection

4. Surgical injury to other organs

Mother is provided with the anesthesia during the delivery through caesarian. The anesthesia may have the targets like:

1. <u>Spinal block: </u>It creates the numbness in the lower part.

2. <u>Epidural:</u> Injected outside the sac of spinal cord.

3. <u>General anesthesia:</u> Puts the mother to painless sleep.

Even after the delivery the mothers are advised such as to take rest for fewer weeks and use correct posture to support their abdomen.

Situations like this happens when a mother have deceases which may complicate during birth (e.g. highblood).</span>
