Disagreements between scientists can occur when two theories appear, and they are both as same as valid as the other. So, scientists starts studing and eventually some scientists will start supporting one theory, while others will support the toher one.

An example of this is the virus and wether its a living organism or not. So for you to understand this, you need to know that something can only be considered a living organism is it posseses some characteristics, but, the virus has some (most of them), but not all.
And there is where the debate begins. Some think it should be considered a living organism since it has most of the characteristics, and others think it shoud be considered a non-living organism, since it doesn't have all the characteristics.
