How do i do number 60? (the clown question)

Physics
1 answer:
Bess [88]4 years ago
6 0

Answer:

310 N

Explanation:

Draw a free body diagram of the clown.  There are five forces:

Tension force T pulling up.

Normal force N pushing up.

Weight force W pulling down.

Tension force T pulling left.

Friction force Nμ pushing right.

Sum of the forces in the y direction:

∑F = ma

N + T − W = 0

N = W − T

Sum of the forces in the x direction:

∑F = ma

Nμ − T = 0

T = Nμ

Substitute and solve for T:

T = (W − T)μ

T = Wμ − Tμ

(1 + μ) T = Wμ

T = Wμ / (1 + μ)

Plug in values and solve:

T = (890 N) (0.53) / (1 + 0.53)

T ≈ 310 N

The clown must pull with at least 310 N to yank his feet out from under himself.

A small metal sphere weighs .28 N in air and has a volume of13
Ray Of Light [21]

To solve this problem we will start by considering how to calculate the apparent weight. On the sphere this will then be given that the real weight is the sum of the apparent weight and the Buoyant Force. Therefore we will have to

W_T = W_A + F_B

Here

W_T= True Weight

W_A= Apparent Weight

F_B= Buoyant Force

If we seek to find the apparent weight we will have to,

W_A = W_T-F_B

W_A = 0.28N - V\rho g

Remember that

V = Volume (Volume Sphere)

\rho= Density (At this case water density)

g = Gravitational acceleration

W_A = 0.28N - (13*10^{-6}m^3)(1000kg/m^3)(9.8)

W_A = 0.1526N

Therefore the apparent weight will be 0.1526N

Which factor (s) have the most affect a person’s vital capacity? Rank in order from MOST effect (1) to least effect (5)
jenyasd209 [6]

The factors that affect vital capacity are :

  1. Age
  2. Sex
  3. Height
  4. Body mass
  5. Ethnicity

Explanation:

Vital capacity is the maximum amount of air that a person can exhale once he has filled his lungs with maximum air. So, it is like maximum exhalation after maximum inhalation by a person.

Vital capacity is also equal to Forced Vital Capacity.

Lung usually have their maximum capacity in early adult days and this capacity reduces as the person grows older. So age is the prime factor in this.

A female with same age and height as that of male will have 10-12% less vital capacity than him. So sex is another reason which determines vital capacity.

Person with more height has more vital capacity. This is because lungs capacity is closely related to the third power of person's height.

Person suffering from obesity will have compressed diaphragm, lung and chest cavity , so their vital capacity will be less. So we can say body mass affects vital capacity.

Last factor, ethnicity, is yet to be understood clearly as there is not much evidence of this.

If a nucleus was as big as a nonpareil, an atom would be ____
Mamont248 [21]

Answer:

small marble

Explanation:

A nonpareil are confectionery tiny ball items that are made up of starch and sugar. It is very small of the size of sugar crystal or sand grains. They were the miniature version of the comfits. They are generally opaque white but bow available in all colors.

In the context, if the nucleus is compared to the size of a nonpareil then its atom would be of the size of small size marble. An atom is bigger in size than that of nucleus as the nucleus is located inside the atoms.
