A uniform drawbridge must be held at a 37 ? angle above the horizontal to allow ships to pass underneath. The drawbridge weighs

45,000 N and is 14.0 m long. A cable is connected 3.5 m from the hinge where the bridge pivots (measured along the bridge) and pulls horizontally on the bridge to hold it in place.
What is the tension in the cable?

Find the magnitude of the force the hinge exerts on the bridge.

Find the direction of the force the hinge exerts on the bridge.

If the cable suddenly breaks, what is the magnitude of the angular acceleration of the drawbridge just after the cable breaks?

What is the angular speed of the drawbridge as it becomes horizontal?

Answer:

Explanation:

a ) Let T be tension in the horizontal cable .

Taking torque about hinge of weight and tension

45000 x 7 x cos37 = 3.5 sin 37 x T

T = 119431 N

b ) If R be the reaction force on the hinge

R sin 37 = 45000 ( vertical force balancing each other )

R = 74775 N

c ) The direction of R will be along the bridge

d ) Moment of inertia of bridge

I = Ml² / 3 = (45000 / 9.8 ) x 14² / 3

= 300000.

When cable breaks , the weight creates a torque about the hinge will creates angular acceleration

Torque by weight about the hinge

= 45000 x 7 x cos 37

= 251570

angular acceleration = torque / moment of inertia

= 251570 / 300000

= .84 radian / s²

Since they move down their concentration gradient through a transport protein, they can release energy as a result of chemiosmosis. One example is GLUT1 which moves glucose down its concentration gradient into the cell.

Elastic collision formula find each velocity
pshichka [43]
We know the initial velocity of the golf ball and its mass, but we don't know the final velocitiesof either ball, and the trick to make these calculations go faster for an elastic collision is to use this equation, which says the initial velocity of one of the objects before the collision

When light travels from a medium it moves faster in (such as air) to a medium it moves slower in (such as glass) its velocity de
shutvik [7]

Answer:

c) The wavelength decreases but the frequency remains the same.

Explanation:

Light travels at different speed in different mediums.

Refractive index is equal to velocity of the light 'c' in empty space divided by the velocity 'v' in the substance.

Or ,

n = c/v.

The frequency of the light does not change but the wavelength of the light changes with change in the speed.

c = frequency × Wavelength

Frequency is constant,

The formula can be written as:

n = λ / λn.

Where,

λn is the wavelength in the medium

λ is the wavelength in vacuum

When the light travels to glass, it speed slows down and also the wavelength decreases as both are directly proportional. There will be no effect on frequency.

There are two uncharged objects, A and B. Some electrons move from A to B. How does the charge of the two objects change?
miskamm [114]
A becomes positive, while b is now negative. Basically, electrons are negative particles. If they go to somewhere, they make the somewhere they go to negative.
