Explain how and why internal and external factors have influenced the process of state building from 1750 to 1900
stepan [7]

Answer:

Some states with existing colonies strengthened their control over those colonies and in some cases assumed direct control over colonies previously held by non-state entities. European states as well as the United States and Japan acquired territories throughout Asia and the Pacific, while Spanish and Portuguese influence declined. Many European states used both warfare and diplomacy to expand their empires in Africa. Trade in some commodities was organized in a way that gave merchants and companies based in Europe and the U.S. a distinct economic advantage. The need for raw materials for factories and increased food supplies for the growing population in urban centers led to the growth of export economies around the world that specialized in commercial extraction of natural resources and the production of food and industrial crops. The profits from these raw materials were used to purchase finished goods. Increasing questions about political authority and growing nationalism contributed to anti-colonial movements. Anti-imperial resistance took various forms, including direct resistance within empires and the creation of new states on the peripheries. Increasing discontent with imperial rule led to rebellions, some of which were influenced by religious ideas.

Why did the US intervene in the Korean War
Licemer1 [7]

The USA went to war in Korea for three reasons.

The first reason was the ‘Domino theory’.   Salami tactics in eastern Europe was not the only place where Communists were coming to power.  In the Far East, too, they were getting powerful China turned Communist in 1949.   Truman believed that, if one country fell to Communism, then others would follow, like a line of dominoes.   He was worried that, if Korea fell, the next ‘domino’ would be Japan, which was very important for American trade.   This was probably the most important reason for America’s involvement in the war.

The second reason was just to try to undermine Communism.   President Truman believed that capitalism, freedom and the American way of life were in danger of being overrun by Communism.   The Truman Doctrine had been one of ‘containment’ – stopping the Communists gaining any more territory.   In April 1950 the American National Security Council issued a report recommending that America abandon 'containment' and start 'rolling back' Communism.   This led Truman to consider driving the Communists out of North Korea.

Finally, Truman realised the USA was in a competition for world domination with the USSR.   By supporting South Korea, America was able to fight Communism without directly attacking Russia.

Hope this helps.

How far back in history do written sources go?
Vera_Pavlovna [14]

Written sources go back to about 5500 years ago, when marketers started using labels to keep books and accounts.

The original markings were in the form of thumbnails and symbols, and different ways of writing developed in different cultures. The discovery of the letter, at a time when the first civilizations were occurring around the world, marks the end of prehistory. From the moment people invented the letter, written clues about their lives and activities became part of everyday life: receipts and bills were written, contracts were signed, significant events, laws and literary works were recorded. It was the beginning of written history.

Explanation:

  • The original method of writing probably evolved from the clay marks used by traders in Mesopotamia.
  • Around 3500 BC. e. The markings were stamped on the surface of the clay ball, marking the type and quantity of goods, and a few hundred years later Mesopotamians began to use sticks to leave wedge marks on moist clay tablets.
  • Essential tables are sun-dried to be stored in libraries. The tags grew into a letter called cuneiform, which has been in use for almost 3300 years.
