Its basically an agreement between the house and the senate which decide how many representatives each state get in congress. One side thought the amount of representatives should be based on the size of the shape and the other thought everyone should have the same amount. This is how the senate and house of representatives became a thing. The senate gives each state 2 representatives and the house give each state a number or reps based off of the size. <span />

What role did advertising play in transforming america into a consumer society?
Neko [114]
During and after WWI, America experienced rapid growth due to the fact that pretty much the rest of the western civilization was demolished. American businesses were selling to Europe, and obviously earned a lot of profit. There was a lot of opportunity, and people wanted to spend their extra money on fun things. Advertisers and Marketers capitalized on that, and started a shift into more consumeristic thinking. With the advent of electricity, tons of home appliances were created and marketed, emphasizing the "buy now and pay later" approach. With all of the kitchen appliances, the era of domesticity ended, and women were free to go do other things such as have jobs or pursue fun activities.
The economy thrived, money was created out of nothing (compound interest, etc), which lead to a bubble and eventual collapse in 1929.
Hope this helps! :)

Why did the japanese attack pearl harbor and how successful was the attack?
prisoha [69]

Answer:

Japan moved to attack the US Navy Pacific Fleet at Pearl Harbor under the premise that war with the United States was inevitable, they wanted to strike first, to deliver a fatal blow to the American Navy that would impede the US from interfering in their conquests and military operations in Southeast Asia. A declaration of war was drafted,  but due to delays it was delivered to the US after the attack had started on December 7, 1941.  The Japanese planes inflicted terrible damage on the fleet in Hawaii, sunk several important vessels, damaged others, destroyed a hig number of aircraft and killed thousands of sailors. Nevertheless, the attack was not a full success because that day, the American carriers were not anchored at the base in Pearl Harbor, so the operation failed to achieve one of its main goals: to destroy American naval strategic capacity; the era of the aircraft carriers as the main assets of naval power had begun.
