Answer:

Answer explained below

Explanation:

GIVEN:

options issued = 1000

exercise per share = $6

market price = $20

net income = $50000

a) Diluted earnings per share

= (Total income - preference dividends) /( outstanding shares + diluted shares)

Amount paid towards shares = Options issued * Exercise price per share = 1,000 * 6 = $ 6,000

Value of options = Amount paid towards shares / Current market price = $ 6,000 /$ 20 = 300

Diluted shares = Options issued - value of options = 1000 - 300 = 700

So Diluted Earnings per share = ( 50,000) / ( 10,000 +700) = $ 4.67 per share.

b) Calculation of diluted shares 700 (same as above )

Weighted average for the period holding i.e, 3 months = 700 *3/12 = 175 shares increased during the period.

Diluted EPS = 50,000 /(10,000 +175) = $ 4.91 per share

An increase in the supply of grain will reduce the total revenue grain producers receive if.
Bogdan [553]

If the demand curve is inelastic, a rise in the supply of grain will result in a decrease in the overall income received by grain producers.

The ability of firms to enter and exit a market over time means that, in the long run, the supply curve is more elastic.

Two basic economic concepts are combined in the law of supply and demand to explain how shifts in the price of a resource, good, or service affect its supply and demand. As the price rises, supply increases while demand decreases. On the other hand, as the price falls, demand increases and supply becomes more limited.

The degree to which changes in price translate into changes in demand and supply is known as the product's price elasticity.

Basic consumer demand is comparatively inelastic, or less responsive to price changes.

On October 1, 2018, Northern Inc. purchased a patent for $204,000 cash. Although the patent gives legal protection for 20 years,
baherus [9]

Answer:

$183,600

Explanation:

Since the expected useful life of the patent is only 10 years, instead of 20 years, its cost should be amortized in 10 years. That means that for every year that passes, Northern has to amortize $20,400 (= $204,000 / 10). Only one year passed between September 30, 2019 and October 1, 2018, so the patent's account on the balance sheet is $183,600 (= $204,000 - $20,400).

The Federal Arbitration Act (FAA) allows for arbitration clauses in employment contracts. False True
Pepsi [2]

Answer:

True

Explanation:

It is TRUE that the Federal Arbitration Act (FAA) allows for arbitration clauses in employment contracts.

The above statement is echoed in the Epic Systems Corp. v. Lewis on May 21, 2018, where the Supreme Court gave its ruling that the FAA is totally enforceable in the individual arbitration agreements contracts.

Similarly, in the case of American Express Co. v. Italian Colors Restaurant, the court ruled that necessary arbitration clauses are legal.
