Question says that if the diameter of the earth we're squared what would the diameter of the new planet be.

Diameter of the earth is not given so we have to ways to proceed.

Assume that diameter is d then find answer.

Or

Find diameter of the Earth from internet or book then use it to find the answer.

I will go with 2nd choice.

We know that diameter of the Earth is 7917.5 miles.

So take square of that

(7917.5)^2 = (7917.5)(7917.5)= 62686806.25

Hence diameter of the new planet will be 62686806.25 miles.

Answer:

(12742)^2=162358564 km or 100884934.5 miles

Step-by-step explanation:

We are supposed to find the diameter of a new planet if it has two times the diameter of the earth.

Since, the value of the diameter of earth is not given so checking it from the internet, we get a value of approximately 12,742 km.

So we will take square of this value of the diameter of the earth to see how much will be the diameter of the new planet:

(12742)^2=162358564 km

So the diameter of the new planet be (12742)^2=162358564 km or 100884934.5 miles.

a furniture shop refinshes cabinets. employees use one of two methods to refinish each cabinet. method 1 takes 1 hour and the ma
Margaret [11]

Answer:

70 cabinets in method 1 and 24 cabinets in method 2.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let in method 1 they refinish x cabinets and in method 2 they refinish y cabinets.

Now, given that method 1 and method 2 takes 1 hour and 1.5 hours respectively and the material costs for method 1 and method 2 are $6 and $4 respectively.

If they plan to spend 106 hours in labour and $516 in material for refinishing cabinets, then

x + 1.5y = 106 ...... (1) and

6x + 4y = 516 ....... (2)

Now, solving equations (1) and (2), we get

6 (106 - 1.5y) + 4y = 516

⇒ 5y = 636 - 516

⇒ y = 24 cabinets

From equation (1) x = 106 - 1.5y = 106 - 36 = 70 cabinets. (Answer)

Mrs.Giblin begins hiking at mile marker 25 on the Appalachian Trail and hikes 3 miles every hour. What is the slope?
Ilya [14]

Answer:

3 miles

Step-by-step explanation:

Slope is simply the change in position per unit rate. We could conclude that the steepness of the Applachian is the rate of change in position per unit time. Since the distance hiked on the Applachian is said to be 3 miles per hour, then we can conclude that the slope of the applachian is 3 miles

This is the change in miles / change in time.

Chang in miles = 3

Change in time = 1

Slope = 3/1

Slope = 3
