Which sentences describe the logistic growth model? There are three different phases of the S-shaped curve. At first, growth is

exponential because individuals are few and resources are plenty. This growth model occurs in a situation where resources are plenty and individuals are few to consume the resources. Population growth decreases as resources become limited. When a population size reaches the carrying capacity of its environment, the population growth slows down or stops completely. The model looks like a J-curve.

Exponential growth occurs when there are few individuals and many resources (this is often not a case in real world). When the number of individuals starts to increase, resources reduce and growth rate slows down or levels off, making an S-shaped curve. The population size at that moments (which represents the maximum population size a particular environment can support), is called the carrying capacity (K).

Darwin proposed as the process that causes evolution to occur.
Nikitich [7]

Answer:

natural selection

Explanation:

Darwin proposed natural selection as the process that causes evolution.

According to the theory of natural selection, the environment naturally selects for genes that confer fitness to organisms over every other gene. In other words, organisms that are able to adapt to an environment survive and contribute more to the subsequent generation while those that are poorly adapted contribute less and gradually fade away from the population.

For example, when a drug is taken a particular pathogen, the susceptible ones among the pathogen's population will die off while the ones with the resistance gene survive, reproduce, and pass on the resistance gene to the subsequent generation. Consequently, the same drug might not work at all for the new generations of the pathogen because the gene that confers fitness has been selected for.

Plants produce carbon dioxide as a product of cellular respiration. But you know that plants release oxygen, not carbon dioxide.
77julia77 [94]
Carbon dioxide is released during respiration but used up during photosynthesis. The reason that plants release oxygen is because the amount of carbon dioxide released by the plants is, for the most part, used in photosynthesis; however, all of the oxygen produced is not used in respiration. Thus, the net outflow of gas from a plant is that of oxygen.

What is a substrate?
likoan [24]
a substrate is the surface on which an organism (such as a plant, fungus, or animal) lives. A substrate can include biotic or abiotic materials and animals. For example, encrusting algae that lives on a rock (its substrate) can be itself a substrate for an animal that lives on top of the algae.

Hope this helped :)
