Snowcat [4.5K]4 years ago

A- the answer is 2, because it has the most amount of crosses or is the highest bar, showing that it is the most popular (mode)

mean is adding all the numbers divided by how many numbers there are, so 20/10=2

median is the number in the middle of an (ordered) row. but since the numbers are already ordered, it is in between 33 and 35, so the median is 34

C and D since they both show the most and least popular result, rather than estimating percentages.

D because each sample adds up to 200.

1: A or 2. Mode is most common, so highest on the chart going upward
2: 2. mean is average. add them and divide by the number of people asked in the pole
3: 34. Median is the middle number when the data is put in order. For this it is 33 and 35 so you find the average of the two and get the answer
4: C and D. the percentages are incorrect because the total number of people is 75 not 100.
5: D (or maybe C) i dont really know what your teacher wants, but its definitely one of the two. You probably know what your teacher says in class better than me so use your own judgement on this one.
Hope this helps!

How does the formula for the sample mean differ from the formula for population mean? Multiple choice question. To calculate the
Katen [24]

Answer:

The formulas are functionally the same, but 'n' (the sample size) is used instead of 'N' (the population size).

Step-by-step explanation:

The sample mean is the average value for a set of observations which is derived from a population. While the population mean is the average value for the entire set of observation belonging to a particular study of interest.

The set of observation belonging to a population is denoted by 'N' ; while the sample size is denoted as 'n' :

The mean formula is written thus :

Population mean = Σx / N

Sample mean = Σx / n

Where, x = set of values.
