Ok so on day 0 we know the road was 44 miles, thats our intercept.
Now if only 1 mile is added per day, then we get
l = d + 44
Now lets plug in 35
l = 35 + 44 \\ l = 79
After 35 days the length of the road was 79 miles.

working together 9 friends pick up 23 2/5 bags of apples and an orchard they divide the bags of apples equally between them how
Citrus2011 [14]
Simply divide 23 and 2/5 bags of apples between 9 friends:

23 and 2/5 bags ÷ 9 friends= 117/5 bags ÷ 9 friends
                                              =  13/5 bags
                                              = 2 and 3/5 bags

Therefore, each friend receives 2 and 3/5 bags of apples.

Hope this helps!

A jet ski company charges a flat fee of $24.00 plus $2.25 per hour to rent a jet ski. Another company charges a fee of $23.00 pl
Tju [1.3M]

Let

x----------> charge per hour to rent a jet sky in dollars

y----------> the total cost to rent a jet sky in dollars

we know that

First Jet Sky Company

y=24.00+2.25x ---------> equation 1

Second Jet Sky Company

y=23.00+2.50x ---------> equation 2

we know that

To find the number of hours for which the costs are the same

equate equation 1 and equation 2

The intersection both graphs is the solution of the problem

using a graph tool

see the attached figure

the intersection point is (4,33)

That means

For x=4\ hours

the cost of the rent is y=\$33 in both companies

therefore

the answer is

4\ hours

How do you solve -2(4-x)-5=11 ?
zlopas [31]

Answer:

x =12

Step-by-step explanation:

we have:

-2(4-x)-5=11

apply distributive property:

-2*4 +2*x -5=11

we have:

-8 +2x -5 =11

2x -13 =11

2x = 11+13

2x= 24

x = 24/2

finally we have the x value:

x =12
