Answer:

Her weight is increase by 18 lbs over past five years and the slope is 3.6 lbs per year.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given information: Estelle weight is

At age 16 =  110 lbs

At age 21 = 128 ibs

Increase in her weight over the past 5 years is the difference of weight at age 21 and at age 16.

Increase in her weight over the past 5 years = 128 - 110 = 18

Her weight is increase by 18 lbs over past five years.

Let x=age and y=weight, then the weight function passes through the points (16,110) and (21,128).

If a line passes through two points (x_1,y_1) and (x_2,y_2),  then the slope of the line is

m=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}

Using the above formula we get

m=\frac{128-110}{21-16}

m=\frac{18}{5}

m=3.6

Therefore the slope is 3.6 lbs per year.

ASAP BRAINLIEST !! Luis is given the fraction 4/5. He is told to create an equivalent fraction with a numerator of 32. Explain t
solniwko [45]

Answer: answer 40.

Step-by-step explanation:

Note : lets make x the missing denominator.

I would take the 4/5 and set it equals to 32/x

we then cross multiply

where it would be 4 * x = 32  * 5

it would then be 4x = 160

we would then divide 160 by 4

x = 160/ 4

and x would be 40

.... therefore the missing denominator is 40.

Cost of each bags of flour = $2.50

Cost of each bags of butter = $3.75

Solution:

Let f be the bags of flour and b be the pounds of butter.

Cost of 20 bags of flour 16 pound of butter = 110

⇒ 20f + 16b = 110 -------------------- (1)

Cost of 30 bags of flour 12 pound of butter = 120

⇒ 30f + 12b = 120  -------------------- (2)

Equation (1) and (2) are the system of equations.

(2) ⇒ 30f + 12b = 120

Subtract 30f from both sides.

⇒ 12b = 120 – 30f

Divide by 12 on both sides.

$\Rightarrow b =\frac{120-30f}{12}  -------------------- (3)

Substitute (3) in (1).

$20f+16\left(\frac{120-30f}{12}\right)=110

$20f+4\left(\frac{120-30f}{3}\right)=110

$20f+4(40-10f)=110

$20f+160-40f=110

Subtract 160 from both sides.

$-20f=-50

Divide by –20, we get

$f=\frac{5}{2}

f = 2.50

Substitute f = 2.5 in equation (3), we get

$\Rightarrow b =\frac{120-30(2.50)}{12}

$b=\frac{15}{4}

b = 3.75

Cost of each bags of flour = $2.50

Cost of each bags of butter = $3.75
