Why is the youngest rock found near mid ocean ridges

Biology

At mid-ocean ridges, the seafloor is spreading as the plates move away from each other.

Harry Hess said tha thte continents move over time but not in a random drifting pattern. Instead the seafloor was spreading at the mid-ocean ridge because the plates were moving away from each other. Motion of t heseafloor in a conveyor belt fashion explains the phenomena of the youngest rocks being found only at the mid-ocean ridges, and rockes getting progressively older as you move away from the ridge.

I hope this explains :)

New rock is formed near the mid-oceanic ridge as oceanic plates diverge or separate from each other. Hot rocks rising from the asthenosphere melt from decompression as they rise, filling the fault and forming new basaltic oceanic crust. As new crust is added, older crust is pushed away. Therefore, the further away from the mid-oceanic ridge, the older the rocks.

What is a glacial sediment called? & What is a large rock transported by a glacier called?
Luba_88 [7]
The glacial sediment is known as glacial till.

Glacial till is derived from entrainment and erosion of material by the moving ice of the glacier.

It is being deposited a distance down -ice to form ground moraines, medical, lateral, and terminal. Glacial till is divided into primary deposits which are rewarded by fluvial transport.
The large rock which is transported by a glacier is called moraines. Moraines are formed from debris which is previously carried along by a glacier and consists of rounded particles which range in size from the large boulders.

Moraines are of different types, for example, ground moraines, lateral moraines, and recessional moraine.

The fertilization of ovules from Plant Q by pollen from Plant R results in the production of seeds. What percent of the genes in
blagie [28]

Answer:

The correct answer is - option A. 0%

Explanation:

The zygote formation or fertilization in flowering plants occurs by the fusion of pollen of one plant with the ovum of another plant of the same species normally. This process includes the exchange of an equal amount of the genetic contribution from both plants.

The egg cell of the mother is responsible for the mitochondria and chloroplast of the progeny so the percentage of chloroplast genes provided via Plant R is 0% as ovum and egg cell comes from only plant Q.

percentage of chloroplast gene inherited from R plant is a)0%
