Answer: D) The church will prove just as dangerous as the protest.

Explanation: An irony is a statement or a situation which seems contradictory or different to what the audience is expecting. In the given stanzas from the poem “Ballad of Birmingham” by Dudley Randall we can see an example of irony in the mother wishes, because she doesn't want her child to go to the protest, because she thinks it will be dangerous, instead, she says he can go to the church, but the church will be just as dangerous as the protest.

How did Seamus Heaney incorporate Old English poetry elements in this modern translation?
konstantin123 [22]
Heaney incorporates Old English poetry elements in his modern translation through punctuation. In Old English poetry, one often used half-lines. This means that each line of poetry was split into two half-lines, and in each of these half-lines there were two strongly stressed words, often with the purpose of giving musicality to the poem. Heaney follows this half-line pattern in his modern translation.

Read the original text, from page 1 of Lizzie Borden: A Case Book of Family and Crime in the 1890s by Joyce Williams et al.: The
BlackZzzverrR [31]

Answer:

True

Explanation:

In the nineteenth century, America, as the text says, had a great industrial development, all the farmers concluded that the money and opportunities were no longer on the harvest but in the industries.

Immigrants came to America looking for the "American dream" where they could live properly with their families and build a life of their own.

That´s why the statement of "With industry came urbanization-the growth of large cities (like Fall River, Massachusetts, were the Bordens lived) which became the centers of production as well as commerce and trade" is TRUE.

Discuss which characters can best be called the protagonists in To Kill a Mockingbird, and why. Your response should be at least
lesya [120]
The protagonists is Scout but following close behind her is her father. Scout is a curious girl and questions all that her dad says. This gives us, the readers, a chance to really immerse ourselves into the story as we follow it alongside Scout. We further connect with her as we are "on the same boat" as her, in the sense that we only discover things as she does in the book, when she does. There is no dramatic irony ( not that i remember)
