Answer:

In my opinion, sharcropping did not really help free slaves, and was a tiny bit better than slavery.

Explanation:

Former slaves who were sharecroppers had abusive landlords, who charged them into debt. The only way to pay this debt was to work, and seldom did sharecroppers ever get out of debt.

Which piece of evidence from the article BEST explains the cause of Americans' desire to stay out of World War II?
timofeeve [1]

Answer:

Answer is Option A: Nations fell victim to new hostile leaders. Japan struck first, invading China. Next Italy struck at Ethiopia. Germany, under the leadership of Adolf Hitler, was the greatest fear.

Explanation:

United States were isolationists and did not want to get in the war between the foreign nations. So, they decided to stay away from the war. Their neutral attitude wanted them to stay out of the war.

America actively traded with Europe. They were helped by China in trading activities. Nazi's Germany was also becoming a threat for America under Hitler. So, they chose to stay out of the war.

They only entered the war after the Pearl harbor attack by Japan.

Overfishing of salmon has caused populations of wild salmon to decline. To combat this decline, salmon are raised in hatcheries,
Tomtit [17]

The differences in the wild and hatcheries make it so the different salmon adapt differently and have different traits.

If salmon are split up into different habitats, one being in the wild and one being in captivity, they will eventually have different adaptations from each other and their offspring will develop traits that are better suited for their environment.

Wild salmon and salmon that are raised in captivity are going to be very different from each other. The salmon in captivity do not have to actively hunt for their food, be wary of certain predators, or may not want to reproduce.

Taking these factors into account, it is very possible that the salmon raised in captivity will have reduced reproductive success compared to the salmon that thrive in the wild. Along with this, they would most likely have many genetic differences from each other and other traits that better adapt to their living situations.

Why would ancient navigators use the North Star to navigate
aleksklad [387]

Astronomy is the oldest of the sciences, and quite possiblythe oldest use of astronomy is navigating by the stars. This craft dates fromprehistoric times among humans, and is even practiced by certain animals.

For example, during the 1960s, a study undertaken by New York's Cornell Lab of Ornithology demonstratedthrough use of planetarium simulations that the indigo bunting, a brilliantly blue bird of old fields and roadsides, migratesat night using the stars for guidance. It learns its orientation tothe night sky from its experience as a young bird observing the stars.

Some primitive tribesaccomplished amazing feats of pathfinding using only the sky as their guide. The Māori came to New Zealand from eastern Polynesia, probably in several waves between the years 1280 to 1300. With no instruments ortables to consult, they very carefully observed the night sky as well localweather patterns and ocean currents.

Relying on the stars

In today's modern world, private andcommercial aircraft depend on a complex network of radio, satellite, inertialand other navigationsystems. But should any or all of these systems fail, the starry sky canserve as the last resort.
