Answer:

A) P(stars) = 1/3

B) P(odd)= 4/7

C)P(solid grays or stars or striped)= 1

D)P(1,4 or 7)= 3/7

E)P(not striped)= 2/3

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

sample set contains 1-7 solid gray, 1-7 stars and 1-7 striped cards

Let solid gray be x

stars be y

striped be z

then sample set be

1x,2x,3x,4x,5x,6x,7x,

1y,2y,3y,4y,5y,6y,7y,

1z,2z,3z,4z,5z,6z,7z

total number of cards in sample set =21

Now

a)Finding probability of stars

Number of star cards in above sample set = 7

P(stars)= 7/21

     P(y)=1/3

b)Finding probability of odd

Number of odd cards in above sample set = 12

P(odd)= 12/21

          =4/7

c)Finding probability of solid grays or stars or striped

P(solid grays or stars or striped) = P(x or y or z)

                                                      =P(x U y U z)

As the events are mutually exclusive

P(x U y U z)= P(x)+P(y)+P(z)

now P(x)= 1/3

P(y)=1/3

P(z)=1/3

P(x U y U z) = 1/3 + 1/3 + 1/3

                   = 3/3

                   =1

d)Finding probability of 1,4 or 7

Number of 1,4 or 7 cards in above sample set = 9

P(1,4 or 7) = P(1 U 4 U 7)

As the events are mutually exclusive

P(1,4 or 7) = P(1) + P(4) + P(7)

P(1)= 3/21

     =1/7

P(4)= 3/21

     =1/7

P(7)= 3/21

     =1/7

P(1,4 or 7)= 1/7 + 1/7 + 1/7

               =3/7

e)Finding probability of not striped

Number of not striped cards in above sample set = 14

P(not striped)= 14/21

                      = 2/3 !

What system of linear inequalities is shown in the graph? Enter your answers in the boxes.
riadik2000 [5.3K]
First, find the equation of the lines:

y=-2x+2 and y=1/3x+2

We see that the shaded part is below the y=1/3x+2 graph, so it becomes y<1/3x+2 (It's not ≤ since it's a dotted line)

For the y=-2x+2, the shaded part is under the line as well, so it becomes y≤-2x+2 (Here, we include the ≤ since it's a solid line)

So your answer is y<1/3x+2 and y≤-2x+2.

choli [55]

Answer: 5040

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : Number of choices to make a four digit code ( 0 to 9)= 10

If repetition is not allowed , then we use Permutations to find the number of different code groups can be designed.

The number of permutations of n things , taking r at a time is given by :-

^nP_r=\dfrac{n!}{(n-r)!}

Then, the number of permutations of  10 numbers , taking 4 at a time is given by :-

^{10}P_{4}=\dfrac{10!}{(10-4)!}\\\\=\dfrac{10\times9\times8\times7\times6!}{6!}\\\\=\dfrac{10\times9\times8\times7}{1}\\\\=5040

Hence, the number of different code groups can be designed= 5040

DochEvi [55]
The equations are:
x + y = 200
x = y - 40; substituting x from this equation to the first:
y - 40 + y = 200
2y = 240
y = 120

Corresponding value of x:
x = 120 - 40
x = 80

The solution to this system is (80, 120)

The area of room is 812 square feet, cost of carpet to cover the room is $6739.6 and the remaining square feet of carpet are covered by furniture is 203 square feet.

<h3>What is the area of trapezoid?</h3>

The area of the trapezoid is the space occupied by it on the two dimensional plane. The area of this figure is half of the product of height and sum of sides.

A=\dfrac{(a+b)h}{2}

Here, (a and b) are the base sides of the trapezoid and (h) is the height.

A room is shaped like a trapezoid which has the height of 28 feet and the length of sides as 23 ft and 35 ft. Thus, the area of it is,

A=\dfrac{(a+b)h}{2}\\A=\dfrac{(23+35)28}{2}\\A=812\rm\; ft^2

Carpet costs $8.30 per square foot. Thus, the cost of carpet with area 812 ft² is,

C=812×$8.30

C=$6739.6

Furniture covers 25% of the floor. Thus, the remaining square feet of carpet are covered by furniture is,

A=\dfrac{25}{100}\times812\\A=203\rm\; ft^2

Thus, the area of room is 812 square feet, cost of carpet to cover the room is $6739.6 and the remaining square feet of carpet are covered by furniture is 203 square feet.
