You would have to do 6 x 25 because 6 inches
and 1 inch represents 25.
anywho, 6 x 25 is 150.
then you have to find 25 divided by 0.4 and that
is 62.5
Finally you have to do 150 + 62.5 and that equals
212.5

In a child's bank are 11 coins that have a value of S1.85. The coins are either
Karo-lina-s [1.5K]

Answer:

The child has 6 dimes and 5 quarters.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let q and d represent the number of quarters and of dimes respectively.

Then q + d = 11 (Equation A), and ($0.25/quarter)q + ($0.10/dime)d = $1.85 (Equation B).

Multiply the 2nd equation by 100 to remove the decimal fractions:

25q + 10d = 185 (Equation C)

Now multiply the 1st equation by -10 to obtain -10q - 10d = -110 (Equation D), and combine this result with Equation C:

-10q - 10d = -110

25q + 10d = 185

--------------------------

15q         = 75, and so q = 75/15 = 5.

According to Equation A, q + d = 11.  Replacing q with 5, we get:

5 + d = 11, and so d = 6.

The child has 6 dimes and 5 quarters.

A factory produces 3/4 of a mile of thread every 1/4 of an hour. What is the unit rate of miles of thread per hour?
marissa [1.9K]
Isn’t this 12/4 of a mile of thread every hour? If the factory produces 3/4 of a mile of thread every 1/4 of an hour, then all you need to do is 3/4 x 4. 1/4 is like .25 so to make a whole number, you have to do .25 x4 which makes the whole. I don’t know if my explanation is correct or not but I do believe my answer is. (12/4 is 3)

Write an expression for the calculation add 3 and 8 and then multiply by 9
melisa1 [442]

Hey there!

Basically it wants you to add 3 and 8 from each other, what ever the answer to that part, you multiply the result by 9

Here this is what i meant

3 + 8 = 11 \\ 11 ( 9) = 99

Or you could do this method too!

(3 +8) (9) \\ \\ 3 + 8 = 11 \\ 11(9) \\ = 99

They both give you the result of 99

So, I am assuming your expression would look like this: (3 + 8) * 9

Good luck on your assignment and enjoy your day!
