These are the amino acids that must come from your diet as they cannot be stored by the body.

 • Essential amino acid
 • Non-essential amino acid

Explanation:

Amino acids are essential biomolecules required for the living of organisms; they act as building blocks of protein. Total 21 amino acids are involved in the protein synthesis. And based on their synthesis and intake they are categorized into two groups:

 • Essential amino acid: These amino acids cannot be synthesized by the body, and its intake is required from the diet. Out of 21 amino acids, 10 are essential amino acids such as histidine, isoleucine, leucine, lysine, etc.
 • Non-essential amino acid: These amino acids are synthesized in the body in an adequate amount so, their intake is not required from the diet. Out of 21 amino acids, 11 are non-essential amino acids such as alanine, arginine, cysteine, glutamine, tyrosine, etc.
