Answer:

<em>Distance covered by motorcyclist A = 700 - 300 = 400 km</em>

<em>Distance covered by motorcyclist B = 300 - 0 = 300 km</em>

<em>The time before they met went for 5 hours</em>

<em>Average speed of motorcyclist A would be: 400/5 = 80 km/hour</em>

<em>Average speed of motorcyclist B would be : 300/5 = 60 km/hour</em>

Step-by-step explanation:

<u><em>In the given question first we have to find the distance covered by each of them.</em></u>

Look at the graph. Motorcyclist A started from 700 km and met at 300 km with motorcyclist B

Thus the distance covered by motorcyclist A = 700 - 300 = 400 km

Motorcyclist B started from 0 km and met with A at point 300 km.

Thus the distance covered by motorcyclist B = 300 - 0 = 300 km

<u><em>Now we have to find the time before they meet.</em></u>

Look at the graph. Both motorcyclists met at point t=5

Thus the time before they met went for 5 hours

<u><em>Now find out the average speed of motorcyclists</em></u>

To find the average speed we require total distance and time.

Motorcyclist A covered 400 km within 5 hours

<em>Average speed of motorcyclist A would be: 400/5 = 80 km/hour</em>

<em>Average speed of motorcyclist B would be : 300/5 = 60 km/hour</em>

What is the surface area and what do I need to do?
kari74 [83]

check the picture below, that's pretty much the same block, or "rectangular prism", with a width of 10, length of 5 and height of 1.

so anyhow, is really 6 rectangles stacked up to each other at the edges, so, we can simply get the area of each of those rectangles, add them up and that's the surface area.

front and back, two rectangles of  5x1

left and right, two rectangles of 1x10

top and bottom, two rectangles of 10x5

\bf \stackrel{\textit{front and back}}{2(5\cdot 1)}+\stackrel{\textit{left and right}}{2(1\cdot 10)}+\stackrel{\textit{top and bottom}}{2(10\cdot 5)}
