Only 1/4 (25%) of Greece is arable (farmable) land, so the Greeks relied heavily on fish and other seafood for survival. Also, olive trees are native to the area so their diet was and still is based on a lot of dishes involving olives, olive oil, and wine.
Borders, the countries want more land to represent them and have more power and if they have that then they also have more oil and water.
Not the whole of Germany became a satellite of the Soviet Union. A part of Berlin, that was controlled by the Soviets following World War II was, however, a satellite for them because they exerted control over that part and controlled various aspects of life in Berlin.
