Why some bacteria produce Nanoparticles when grown on trace elements?
S_A_V [24]

Answer:

· As particles get smaller, their magnetic properties, particularly with regard to temperature, also diminish. However, several strains of bacteria produce magnetite – fine, uniform nanoparticles that have desirable magnetic properties. These magneto tactic bacteria use a protein to form crystalline particles about 50 nanometers in size.

Which is the least number of seismograph stations needed to locate the epicenter of a earthquake
Hunter-Best [27]

At least three seismograph stations are needed to locate the epicenter of a earthquake.

Further Explanation:

An earthquake occurs when two region of the earth slip past each other. Fault plane is the area where the slip occurs. Hypocenter is the region below the earth’s surface where earthquake starts while the epicenter is the region above it.

The earth consists of four major layer:

1. Inner core

2. Outer core

3. Mantle

4. Crust

Seismographs is an instrument used to record the earthquake. The recording done by this instrument is called as the seismograms.

The seismograph comprises of:

1. A base: is fixed tightly in the ground

2. Heavy weight: hangs freely

When the earthquake occurs, the ground shakes and in turn the seismograph also shakes while the hanging weight does not shakes. During the earthquake, the difference in the location between the shaking piece and the motionless piece is recorded. Magnitude of the earthquake is recorded as one for each earthquake. The magnitude of earthquake is measured by the Richter scale but is more commonly measured through moment magnitude scale.

How does mitosis provide for genetic consistency in an organism and why is this important?
castortr0y [4]
Mitosis is Asexual reproduction. It promotes genetic consistency because all offspring are exactly identical to the parent, unlike meiosis where homologous chromosomes are randomly dispersed between four daughter cells. organisms that only reproduce asexually are at a disadvantage because all organisms in their population are identical so if there were to be a major environmental change, they would have less of a chance of survival compared to a population of sexually reproducing organisms that are all genetically different.
