You might keep your money in a bank, but have you heard of a time bank? This online service allows users to trade services with

one another without exchanging money. For example, a hairdresser gives someone a haircut for one hour of credit in the time bank. The hairdresser could then use that credit to have a plumber come work for her for an hour. Time banks are useful for people who cant arrange direct trades. The plumber might not want a haircut, but he can work for the hairdresser and earn credit to use with someone else. How does the detail "The plumber might not want a haircut, but he can work for the hairdresser and earn credit to use with someone else" best support the central idea that time banks are a convenient way to get things done? O A. It gives an example to show how time banks work even for those who are not able to arrange a one-to-one trade. B. It confirms the stereotype that plumbers are not usually interested in improving their appearances. O C. It reminds the reader that the Internet makes it easy for people to find others who have gone through similar life experiences. D. It suggests that many users would prefer to trade services rather than pay cash for something that is not an absolute necessity.

How long, and how much commitment does it take before a new immigrant can feel american?
Ket [755]

Answer:

From getting a green card to taking the U.S. citizenship test and interview, it can take quite a long time to become a U.S. citizen. Currently, it takes about 6 months to a year to get U.S. Citizenship from the time you apply. The citizenship process actually starts when you first get your US green card

Explanation: The adjustment of status timeline is generally 8 to 14 months for family-based applications (and often longer for other application types). However, the most significant advantage to adjusting status is that the intending immigrant may remain in the United States with family during the process.

If the bold sentence is in fact As he tells the story he never smiles, and he never frowns",then it is most likely the human foible due to it being an interesting characteristic. We can also determine this answer through process of elimination if we know the meaning of hyperbole, and "funny name".

Hyperbole is an exaggeration and is not normally meant to be serious, and in the case of your summary, I believe this line is meant to be taken serious. This doesn't seem to be a funny name reference, so your only option is human foible.
