Answer:

Upper level = 2502 seats

Middle level = 5044 seats

Lower level = 7456 seats

Step-by-step explanation: given that

A baseball stadium holds 15,002 seats.

Let the Upper, middle and lower levels be represented as U, M and L respectively. And x = number of seat at the upper level

The lower level has 50 fewer than three times as many seats as the upper. That is

L = 3x - 50 .... (1)

The middle level has 40 more than twice as many seats as the upper level. That is

M = 2x + 40

Where L = x

x+ (2x + 40) + (3x - 50) = 15,002

You solved for x and found out the upper level has 2,502 seats . How many seats are in the lower level and how many seats are in the middle ?

That is x = 2502

Substitute x into equation 1

L = 3(2502) - 50

L = 7456 seats

Substitutes x into equation 2

M = 2(2502) + 40

M = 5044 seats

Connor is going to see a movie and is taking his 4 kids. Each movie ticket costs $13 and there are an assortment of snacks avail
EleoNora [17]

If Connor buys 3 snacks at 3 dollars each for himself and his 3 children, the net cost (including movie tickets) would be 88 dollars.

If he buys x amount of snacks, his cost will be determined by C=52+3x or C=52+3*x (both are equivalent, but not everyone knows every way to represent multiplication)

Step-by-step explanation:

To find the cost of the snacks:

Cost = Price*NumberOfSnacks, or C=p*n, or C=pn

To find the unit cost of the snack, find the price, the p value, which is 3 dollars.

Then, find the total number of snacks that will be bought. Since each person receives an equal number of snacks, 3 per person, and there are 4 people (himself and his 3 children), we can multiply 3*4 to find the n value, which is now known to be 12.

C=3*12=36. Add to the 13 dollar per person charge for tickets (52 dollars for 4 people), and you get 88 dollars.

To find the cost if he buys x amount of snacks for himself and his 3 children (assumed to be "everyone"), all costs but the n value are to be the same, creating this equation:

C=52+3x

In this context, 52 is the cost of movie tickets, 3 is the cost of the snacks, and x is the total number of snacks bought. C represents total cost.

A restaurant adds a 20% tip to the bills of parties of 6 or more people. Suppose a server waits on five such tables. The bill
castortr0y [4]

Answer:

$218.70

Step-by-step explanation:

You need to first convert the percentage to the decimal.

20% = 0.2

Now, you need to find 20% of each bill by multiplying each bill by 0.2.

0.2(185.45) + 0.2(205.20) + 0.2(195.05) + 0.2(245.80) + 0.2(262.00)

Because of the distributive property, you can add up the bills and multiply the sum by 0.2.

0.2(185.45 + 205.20 + 195.05 + 245.80 + 262.00)

0.2(1093.50)

218.7

The waiter made $218.70 in tips.
