The answer is Florida. There are two eras of Spanish rule in Florida. The primary starts after Ponche de Leon first creates landfall in 1513 and lasts until 1763 when the Spanish concede Florida to the British. The second is from 1783-1821, where the Spanish would re-obtain Florida from the British, only to offer it up 40 years after to the United States.

He was a single child and was sickly most of his childhood and he learned to read only when he was eight, which was odd considering that he was already writing stories at the time, that is, he didn't write them himself but rather dictated stories to his Mother or his Nurse who would write it down for him before he learned to do it himself.
