Answer:

It satirizes the reluctance of us to protest or reject the barbaric, outdated practices, traditions that we still adhere to in the name of civilization and preserving one's traditions.

Explanation:

The story satirizes a number of social issues, like people's reluctance to reject outdated traditions, ideas, laws and practices. It also satirizes the Nazi regime during World War II. Hitler's rule killed millions of people deemed to be a hindrance to the Germans. The similarity with the story of "The Lottery" is that neighbors simply watched as their friends and neighbors were captured and killed. They did nothing to prevent or save them from the killings. This un-meaningful death of the people is a result of us not challenging the negative and immoral authority of the powerful ones.

"A Modest Proposal" for Preventing the Children of the Poor People in Ireland from Being a Burden to Their Parents or Country, and for Making Them Beneficial to Their Public" is the full title of Swift's article, which is regarded as a masterwork of irony.

Who is Jonathan Swift?

I will be there when you call.

I believe "there" in this sentence is a noun.
A noun is a person, place, thing, or idea, and "there" is a place.

Hope this helps =)

The cricket wasted away his time singing songs during summer instead of saving food for winter in the poem the ant and the crick
cricket20 [7]
The lesson that can be learned from this story is that you need to be a hard worker in order to succeed in life. The cricket spent his summer carefree and goofing off, and when winter came he regretted it because he did not work hard for his food like the ant did. Since the cricket goofed off instead of collecting food for winter, he ended up with nothing to eat and likely starved. (This is just an idea to consider, try playing off of this to answer the question)
