During a solar eclipse, when the Moon's shadow falls on the Earth, we stand in the shadow rather than looking at it. Observers standing in the umbra see a total eclipse of the Sun, while observers under the penumbra see a partial eclipse.

After the depletion of hepatic glycogen in newborns, which compounds can be used as precursors to sustain the blood glucose leve
VashaNatasha [74]

Answer:

Nutrients from breast milk.

Explanation:

Healthy newborns make blood glucose from sugar and several nutrients from the colostrum, a type of liquid that mother’s breasts produce before breast milk itself. Later, the babies make glucose from mature breast milk.

Most healthy babies, born after 37 weeks of gestation do not risk hepatic glycogen drops. They can easily compensate for normal drops in blood sugar, in other words, whenever the baby is breastfed when needed, he/she will be able to keep his/her glucose levels stable.

What is the difference between the life cycle of ferns and the life cycle of humans?
Bond [772]
Ferns make their own food. They grow and reproduce using spores instead of things like seeds. Humans on the other hand have to ingest food from their surrounding and when mature reproduce sexually. They can also choose if they want to reproduce or not while ferns don't have that option. Sexual reproduction is based on inseminating and egg cell, while ferns don't worry about this because the spores just fall on the ground.

Finch species living on the Galapagos Islands exhibit a variety of beak types that favor different foods. Finches that eat seeds
Setler [38]

Explanation:

B) There is an abundance of seeds and nuts.

The finches have developed adaptations to their environment. Their specialized beaks allow them to adequately exploit the available resources, by utilizing the more abundant food source.

Further Explanation:

All the genetic information within the eukaryotic cell is stored within the nucleus as helical DNA. This DNA is tightly wound around histones as chromosomes. To produce daughter cells during cell division, the chromosomes (total number of chromosomes (2n)) are copied before the cell splits into two daughter cells. This process is known as mitosis, and occurs in cell division and growth processes. Two new nuclei are formed, along with identical cells. These are the same as the parent cell and the chromosome number (2n) is maintained.

Conversely in meiosis, the number of chromosomes (2n) is halved through meiotic divisions, producing 4 (n) germ cells (sperm or eggs), each containing half the number of chromosomes as its parent cell. Crossing over, independent assortment, and random fertilization ensure genetic variation.

This variation refers to the genetic characteristics present within a species; they form new traits called alleles, which may confer adaptations that increase the fitness of a species, along with ensuring survival by conferring an advantage.

The central nervous system consists of the brain and the ________.
Anton [14]

Answer:The answer is spinal cord

Explanation:

The central nervous system consists of the brain and the spinal cord.

The brain is the most highly specialized organ, and is protected by the skull or cranium, while the spinal cord is made up of soft tissue which runs from the medulla oblongata to the tail region. It is protected by the bones of the vertebral column.
