Internal fertilization is defined as the process where, sperm is fertilizing the egg within the female reproductive tract. Internal fertilization helping in to protects the fertilized embryo from harsh environment, predation, and they are able to reproduce on land without any need of external water, which results as higher survival rates.

This fertilization includes 3 main methods for fertilization:

1) Oviparity: In this fertilization eggs are placed outside the female body and nourishment of embryo comes from the yolk which is a part of the egg.

2) Ovoviparity: In this process eggs held within female and nourishment is comes from the yolk.

The sodium-potassium pump is involved in active transport that moves 3 sodium ions from the cell for every 2 potassium ions it m
Ugo [173]

Answer:

The sodium-potassium pump is an active transporter because it needs to move sodium and potassium ions against the concentration gradient.

Explanation:

You have to think of it as outside vs inside the cell.

Outside the cell, you have 5mM K and 150mM Na. Inside the cell, you have 100mM K and 10mM sodium. Without the transporter then the ions would go from greater concentration to lower concentration.  Energy keeps the ions going from the way they would naturally happen.
