It shouldn't add up to 180 degrees, you're looking for the length of the sides not the degree of the angle. Because it's an equilateral triangle, all sides are the same, so you can just set them equal to each other. D=5

A taxicab company charges $2.10 plus $0.80 per mile. Carmen paid a fare of $11.70. Write and solve an equation to find the numbe
Firdavs [7]

Answer:

y=0.8x+2.1

x= 12 miles

Step-by-step explanation:

Using the standard charge of 0.8 per mile and a fixed charge of $2.1. Let x represent the miles covered then the expression for coat at any given mile will be y=0.8x+2.1

Substituting $11.7 for y then we can find the valje of x as 11.7=0.8x+2.1

0.8x=11.7-2.1=9.6

X=9.6/0.8=12 miles

Suppose that 75 percent of the people in a certain metropolitan area live in the city and 25 percent in the suburbs. If 1200 peo
juin [17]

Answer:

31/40

Step-by-step explanation:

Probability is given by number of possible outcomes ÷ number of total outcomes

Number of possible outcomes = 270, number of total outcomes = 1200

Probability (the number of people from the suburbs attending the concert is 270) = 270/1200 = 9/40

Probability (the number of people from the suburbs attending the concert is fewer than 270) means that the number of people from the suburbs attending the concert is not 270 = 1 - 9/40 = (40-9)/9 = 31/40

a fault line moved 24.8 centimeters over the past 175 years. On average how much did the land move each year?
guapka [62]

Answer:

0.142 cm/yr

Step-by-step explanation:

An average is the sum of all the measurements divided by the number of measurements.

If there was a measurement each year, there were 175 measurements, and their sum is 24.8 cm.

Average movement = 24.8/175

Average movement = 0.142 cm/yr

The land moved an average of 0.121 cm each year
