if each triangle is .25 square centimeters, and you can double them up to make a square that is .5 square cm, you only have to find the area of the grid by doing and then multiply it by four to get 960. it gets multiplied by four because if you double up the trianglse, its multipling the ammount used by two, and then you have each is .5 cm, which you can then make into one whole square cm by doubling up again, or just multiply by four.
