Explanation:

Bartholin is a gland located near the vagina that helps to lubricate the vagina with fluid.  

When the opening of this gland is closed or blocked it stores the fluid in the sack because of its inability to flow, this makes this sack to become swollen. The swelling of the sack is called Bartholin cysts. The symptoms are pains around the vagina, discomfort during sex or while walking and infections.
