In my friend's coin purse, I found 12 pennies. The ages, in years, of the pennies obtained by subtracting the year stamped on th

e coin from 2016 follow. 22, 14, 8, 1, 9, 0, 31, 2, 13, 3, 11, 10 Rounding to the nearest tenth, the mean and median of this distribution (in years) are:a. mean = 11.3 and median = 9.5b. mean = 10.3 and median = 10.5c. mean = 10.3 and median = 9.5d. mean = 9.5 and median = 10.3e. mean = 10.3 and median = 8.5

Answer: mean = 10.3 and median = 9.5

Step-by-step explanation:

Given data :

22, 14, 8, 1, 9, 0, 31, 2, 13, 3, 11, 10

Mean = \dfrac{\text{Sum of all data values}}{\text{No. of data values}}

=\dfrac{22+14+8+1+9+0+31+2+13+3+11+10}{12}

=\dfrac{124}{12}=10.3

Median = Middle most value.

For Median , we first arrange the data values in an order.

0 , 1 , 2, 3, 8, 9, 10 , 11, 13 , 14,  22, 31

Since , number of data values is 12 ( even) , so the median would be the mean of the two middlemost value.

i.e . Median= \dfrac{9+10}{2}=9.5

Hence, the  mean and median of this distribution (in years) are :

mean = 10.3 and median = 9.5

. Tommy gives baseball cards to four of his friends. He gives Kiana 3 cards less than he gives Gary.
Licemer1 [7]
We need to write system of equations for this problem. Reading text we write 1 equation by 1.
first lets name our variables
x - Kiana cards
y - Gary cards
z - Monty cards
m - Willa cards

x = y-3         which we can write as y = x+3
z = x + 7
m = 2z
x + y + z + m = 74

I think easiest way to solve this is to express all variables in last equation and solve for x.
x + x+3 + x + 7+ 2x + 14= 74
5x = 50
x = 10
now we just calculate cards given to each friend

y = 13
z = 17
m = 34

Answer:

• changing an interior angle to a reflex angle

Step-by-step explanation:

In order for the outline of the polygon to have a pair of sides that is concave (pointed inward, rather than outward), the corresponding interior angle must be a reflex angle. (It must measure more than 180°.) Draw one; you'll see.
