A: They should start by running in intervals (which means walk for a bit, run for a while, repeat), then as the days go on, gradually increase the speed and decrease the walking interval until they're running easily and breezily.

B: Tom can reach his goal safely, as he is completely prepared for the challenges. As long as he isn't over-working himself and working a good amount each day, there's no reason he can't reach his goal within two months!

Why do you think obesity is on the rise in the United States? Use in your own words.
Vikki [24]
Obesity may be on the rise in the United States because fast foods or food with high amounts of fat and calories tends to be cheaper then so called healthy foods such as salads and vegetables. As that’s the case people have the idea to chose the cheaper option. Another reason is because most people’s tastebuds have more of a liking to “fatty foods” then healthier options.

How may increasing strength decreased susceptibility to injury?
Nana76 [90]
It strengthens your bones to be able to handle large amounts of pressure and weight on your body. I know this isn't related, but when a person breaks their ankle or something else they tend to heal quicker because they're athletes. So one way or another, increasing strength, helps to increase your capacity for exercising.

1. Analyze the following logical argument. At what step (i through iv) does a logical fallacy occur? i. The weight of an object
Maurinko [17]

Answer:

iv. There is no force of gravity acting upon orbiting astronauts.

2. it measures the mass

Explanation:

A logical fallacy occur in step iv

There is actually force of gravity upon the orbiting astronauts. Gravity exist in space. there is an upward and downward forces that keeps the body stable.

1,ii,iii are correct logical statements

2.What does the scale measure? ___________________ If a scale does not technically measure your weight, then why is it often used to measure your weight?

The scale measures ones mass.

Mass is the quantity of matter in a body. Matter is anything that has weight and occupies space. Assuming we are to measure the weight of ones body we will need to be hanged in the air and take measurement with the aid of a spring balance.

At this instant, the force of gravity will be acting on the body(that is one will experience the earth's gravitational pull to the earth's center)

Force is the pull or push on an object. F=mass * gravity

Force is also that which tends to change a body's state of rest or uniform motion on a straight line.

Newton's second law of motion states that the force applied is directly proportional to the rate of change in linear momentum
