Oratorio is defined as a large-scale narrative musical work for orchestra and voices, especially on sacred theme. Handel composed Messiah in 1741 which is an English-language oratorio. Handel in early years of his work established himself for his work for Italian opera but later in 1730's he turned into English oratorio because of the change in public taste. Messiah was his sixth work which he had composed for modest vocal and instruments, however, after his death this work is adopted on much larger scale with giant orchestra and choirs.
