Mayor Richard Molina of Edinburg, Texas belongs to the Democratic Party. He has been in the news recently for issues about election fraud that he has been doing with his wife in recent years. The news report revealed that he is being challenged by some opposition candidates within the party.
Richard Molina became a mayor of Edinburg Texas in 2017 dethroning the long-reigning mayor with approximately 1200 votes. Born and also raised in Edinburg, he grew up to later become law enforcement officer. He served in the army, was also a police sergeant and a detention officer.
In 2019 he was arrested for election fraud which is a first-degree felony and for illegal voting. His wife has also been arrested for illegal voting. The election fraud was filed in 2018 after much complaints following the mayor's win in 2017.
