The first sentence would be, "If I could go back in time, I would choose to go back to the Elizabethan era"
The second would be, "It would be a dream come true for me to sit amongst the Elizabethan crowd and watch Shakespeare's play like Othello or Macbeth performed for the very first time."
All of the nouns used (hammer, chain, furnace, brain, anvil) are explaining mighty things that the tiger is being compared to. The poem is simply saying that they are smart, speedy, and strong.

I don't think a correction is necessary. Both parts of the sentence are already in the present tense. Plus, the use of "us" in the beginning of the sentence indicates a personal attachment.
