In your opinion, what are some factors that contribute to the increase in obesity? What are some changes that you would suggest

for people to make to their daily food and exercise habits, to help reduce obesity? The US Surgeon General says that today’s children may be the first in history to have a shorter life expectancy than their parents. As a young person, how does this make you feel?

Obesity is a physical condition where the BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) is over 30%. There are few factors that contribute to obesity, such an over average daily calories intake, the lack of physical exercise and in general the lack of healthy habits in the current lifestyle.

In order to reduce obesity, it is necessary to learn what kinds of foods are good for our body and what are not: there are guidelines from different association, such as the American Society for Nutrition, that indicates that is possible to reduce obesity is possible if people are going to start eating healthy and exercise regularly.
Eating healthy means that there should be plenty of vegetables and fruits incorporate into the diet, where other foods such as red and processed meat should be consumed in small quantity or not at all. Drink plenty of water is another suggestion that is possible to give.

As a young person, I think it is time to take responsibility and starting a more healthy lifestyle, in order to live just as our parents if not more. On the other side, there is the fact that eating unhealthy is sometimes cheaper and easier, while perhaps the school system should encourage and teach us that it is possible to feed ourselves in a way that is going to make us live longer and be healthier.

Which pesticides are exempt from the notification, posting and reporting requirements of the healthy schools act?.
Harlamova29_29 [7]

Some less hazardous pesticide such as self-contained bait stations, indoor gel or paste crack-and-crevice treatments, antimicrobial pesticides including disinfectants and sanitizers, are exempted from HSA's posting, notice, recordkeeping, and reporting requirements.

What is the Healthy Schools Act (HSA) and who is it for?

  • For K–12 public schools in California as well as licensed child care facilities, collectively referred to as schoolsites, the Healthy Schools Act (HSA) establishes pesticide use and reporting regulations.
  • Anyone using any kind of pesticide on a school site is subject to the HSA, including school personnel, volunteers, and pest control companies.
  • The Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR) creates training programs and other educational resources to promote least-toxic pest control practices and help with HSA compliance.
