b) The events yellow and red are mutually exclusive (same explanation as in item a.)

P(Y∪R)= P(Y) + P(R) - P(Y∩R) = 0.22 + 0.19 = 0.41

c) The probability of the candy not being purple.

P(U')= 1 - P(U)= 1 - 0.23= 0.77
