Answer:$40,000

Explanation:

Bad debt expense is referred to as the noncollectable accounts receivables in a company. Allowance for doubtful accounts is made by Labrador Inc as the company is sure that the goods sold in credit will not be received by the company. The amount which has to be written in the year is the amount which cannot be recovered by the firm. The opening and closing balance of the allowances have to be adjusted in the bad debt expense to find out the final amount to be written off in the balance sheet from accounts receivable.

Bad debt expense                         $60000

(Add) Opening balance

Allowance for doubtful accounts  $42000

(Less) Closing balance

Allowance for doubtful accounts  $62000

Total write off during the year $40000

Suppose that, in a competitive market without government regulations, the equilibrium price of gasoline is $3.00 per gallon.
Rina8888 [55]

Answer:

Price ceiling binding

price floor binding

Price floor binding

Explanation:

A price floor is when the government or an agency of the government sets the minimum price of a product. A price floor is binding if it is set above equilibrium price.

Price ceiling is when the government or an agency of the government sets the maximum price for a product. It is binding when it is set below equilibrium price.

The maximum price ($2.50) is less than the equilibrium price($3) . So it is a binding price ceiling

The minimum price ($3.40) is greater than the equilibrium price($3) . So it is a binding price floor

Avocado Incorporated just paid a dividend of $3. An analyst expects this dividend to grow at a rate of 12% for the next 3 years.
yuradex [85]

Answer:

The most you should pay for this stock is 126.89

Explanation:

The dividend in years 1 – 3 will grow at 12% and then at 5% forever.

We had to get the PV for the dividends in years 1-3 (year 3 also includes the estimated future value of the stock).

We used our calculators to find the PV of each year at the 8% discount rate. Finally we will add them all together to get the final answer.

We find the future dividends using g =12%

Dividend in year 0 --->

Dividend in year 1 ---> 3.36

Dividend in year 2 ---> 3.76

Dividend in year 3 ---> 4.21

Dividend in year 4 ---> 4.43

Now we will calculate the present value of the future dividends using r = 8%

Stock Value assuming constant growth rate = 147.52 --(a)

PV in year 1 ---> 3.11

PV in year 2 ---> 3.23

PV in year 3 ---> 120.45  --(discounting (a))

= 120.45 + 3.23 + 3.11

= 126.89

It is important to keep the questionnaire really short, probably just one good question or a checkbox list would suffice. Hand out the questionnaire once they buy or rent the cds/dvds at the counter. They shall answer it out while you process the receipt and give change. This should come around smoothly and won't be much of a hassle for the customer.
