At this point in the story, it is where Poe sets the climax. It is where the protagonist finally realizes all the questions he did not want to ask the crow for fear of hearing his answer. And finally it does. He understands that <em>"Nevermore"</em> he will see Lenore, and that he will never find a rare and radiant maiden like she was.
